Highland beef really is a cut above. The thick Highland coat helps insulate against our winters, thus reducing the need to develop excess back fat. The result is tender, well marbled, flavourful beef. Independent testing has shown that Highland beef is significantly lower in fat and cholesterol - and higher in protein, iron and omega-3 fatty acids than commercial beef.
A change in direction. We love raising beef animals, but have decided to take a step back from direct marketing beef. So, for the foreseeable future all our stock will be sold on the hoof.
However, Anderson Ridge Highland Cattle & Beef is offering premium, naturally raised Highland beef in Alberta. They offer custom cut whole, halves and quarters – as well as bulk ground beef. Vacuumed packed. You can pick up right at the farm.
